Fran won in Ward 1!
After a council appointment process that cut neighbors out, Fran won with 51% of the vote, in a three-way special Democratic primary for Akron Council Ward 1.
Fran won in 11 of the 12 ward precincts, winning more votes than both opponents combined, and significantly out-fundraising opponents with grassroots, Akron dollars.

For generations, my family worshiped, attended school, and ran a family business here.
I’ve organized with Ward 1 parishioners, tenants, artists, and neighborhood organizations. I’ve attended council meetings for over five years, written a weekly newsletter on city issues for three years, and ran for council in 2023.
I’ve seen council shut neighbors out, choosing inaction when we need change. I’m ready to legislate on issues that matter and be the champion our neighborhoods deserve.
